  • For the safety and well being of your child, please be sure to inform the School Nurse of any medical conditions, injuries or needs that he/she may have.

Please submit all gym excuse notes directly to the nurse. A doctor's note is required and needs to include any restrictions and the length of time your child is to be excused from physical education.

Please submit a doctor's note directly to the nurse if your child is using a splint, brace, cast or crutches to ambulate in school. The doctor's note needs to specify what support your child is using,  the length of time they will be using the support, along with the date of the next scheduled followup appointment. The note should also include any accommodations or restrictions that your child may need while in school.

If your child is unable to ride the bus to and from school and you will be picking them up, please inform the Main Office. Be sure to register on Passage Point and have proper identification when picking up your child. Students using crutches to ambulate are not permitted to ride the bus as per the MERSD Transportation Department.

Screenings are performed annually. Pine Brook School's annual screenings include height, weight, blood pressure and vision. If your child wears glasses, please remind him/her to bring their glasses when screenings are performed. Hearing assessments are performed for any new student entering MERSD.

Our goal at Pine Brook School is to reduce the spread of illness. Handwashing is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick and to prevent the spread of germs to others. Please encourage your child to wash their hands when at school, especially before and after eating and after using the restroom. Please encourage your child to cover their coughs and sneezes with a tissue or their bent arm. If they use a tissue, they should place the used tissue in a garbage pail and afterwards wash their hands. Please encourage your child to keep their hands away from their nose, mouth and eyes in order to reduce the spread of illness.

Thank you for your assistance and cooperation with these important matters.
